Myco Swivel Bather | Frequently asked questions

  Q: Are there any special fittings required for the Swivel Bather?
  A: No - the Swivel Bather base rests on the side of the bath and the seat fits onto the base.
   
  Q: Does the Swivel Bather go down into the bath?
  A: No - it allows the user to sit over the bath for a shower or wash.
   
  Q: Does the Swivel Bather require regular maintenance?
  A: A wipe down after use is all that's required.
After a few years of use - the base frame should be checked on an annual basis for rust - In the unlikely event that there are signs of serious corrosion then the unit should be replaced.
   
  Q: Do Myco provide home demonstrations?
  A: No - but we are happy to send one for a free trial period* of 7 days. If you do not find it suitable, we will arrange to collect it and there will be no charge.
   
  Q: Which model do I need?

  Q: What is the weight limit for users of the Swivel Bather?
  A: The standard bathers (mild steel) are suitable for users up to 16 stone (102Kgs).
The stainless steel models are suitable for users up to 20 stone (127Kgs).
   
  Q: Is the Swivel Bather easily removable so others can use the bath?
  A: Yes - It lifts off the bath.
   
  Q: Is the Swivel Bather portable?
  A: Yes - Some users take it with them when they travel - the Adjustable Width model will fit most hotel baths.
   
  Q: How can I tell a Myco Swivel Bather from a copy?
  A: The seat of the Swivel Bather is unique - it has small diamond shaped holes in the plastic seat. Also the holes in the base plate for the locking device form an "X" shape. In most copies the holes are in the shape of a "+". The base plate and swivel pin are stainless steel. Most copies use mild steel.
   
  Q: Does the Myco Swivel Bather require lubrication?
  A: No. Because the swivel pin is stainless steel and a high quality flange is used in the seat base, the turning mechanism will rotate in a trouble free way for many years.
   
  Q: What if the user finds that the seat is too low?
  A: A Myco Seat Raiser can be added to lift the seat by either 3" (75mm) or 6" (150mm).
   
  Q: What if the seat is too far back ?
  A: A Myco Arm Extender can be fitted to the seat to extend the arms by 6" (150mm). This makes it easier to transfer onto the seat and to get up from the seat after use.
